The new institutional website of the
national nuclear waste management spanish company (ENRESA) was launched
last June. This new portal aims to bring the the activities of ENRESA
closer to the people and it is a clear commitment for openness on
Internet.
The development, which included an information gathering step done in
collaboration with Sigma-2 and several user-testing series, is at the
cutting edge of User Centered Design in Spain. The design process led
VIRATI to develop unique solutions, like multimedia repositories,
site-wide search with semantic features or smart 404 pages.
The offer to the user also includes videostreaming, documentation
with browsable versions, interactive applications, RSS feeds, linking
with 2.0 services and social networks, content tagging and a multimedia
weblog, all of this on a crossbrowser, web standards based, platform.

Virati has developed this innovative
application which allows IFEMA to automatically generate digital
catalogues of the services offered to the exhibitors at its fairs. The
catalogue can be adapted to each individual fair.
Over 20.000 copies will be distributed on USB flash drives, thus
providing fast and efficient access to all information and contract
forms. The solution also provides the possibility to simultaneously
publish the catalogue online.
This action confirms IFEMA's intention to digitalise the management
of all its services, as could already be observed in their Exhibitors
Internet Zone where participation in the different fairs can be managed
24 hours a day.

Virati has developed the two interactive
promotional games featured at the stand of the Telefónica team in the
Volvo Ocean Race in Alicante (Spain).
Wind Racers: This game is played in a dark room. Images, generated by
a simulator, are projected on a big screen.
The participant has to steer the boat using an exact copy of a
steering wheel. The projected images and the audio are automatically
combined with special effects of wind, rain, fog, sunshine and flashes
of lightning. These special effects are generated by systems such as
water sprays, wind machines, smoke machines, spot lights and stroboscope
flashes.
Sail Master: The other game features two players who compete to be
the fastest at cranking the winch which, again, are exact copies of the
mechanical winches of the boat, installed at the stand.
The games are available for the general public from September 19th at
the base of the Telefónica team in the port of Alicante, Spain, the
starting point of the Volvo Ocean Race 2008.
